English translation patch

This patch is currently in beta.

Download Final Fantasy IV: Critical Edition (IPS)

Apply this patch to your own copy of Final Fantasy IV for the Super Famicom, Japanese Revision 1. Use an unmodified, unheadered ROM (1,048,576 bytes). If your file has a 512-byte copier header, remove it before patching.

Use an IPS patcher to create the translated ROM, then open it in a Super Nintendo emulator. The patch includes the current English translation and proportional fonts.
